Causes of Hair Loss in Men-

  1. Genetical Problem- Male pattern baldness that is commonly known as androgenic alopecia is one of the major reasons for hair loss in men. If your parents are bald or any close relative is facing the problem of hair loss, chances are there that you will also face the same. The problem can start at a very early age depending upon family history.
  2. Medical Conditions- Few medical conditions such as thyroid problems or anemia might lead to temporary hair loss. Protein & iron deficiency can also result in hair loss in men. Persons suffering from diabetes tend to lose their hair. Medications taken for cancer, arthritis, heart diseases & high blood pressure causes hair fall. Chemotherapy also causes significant hair loss. But these types of hair loss is not permanent. The hair will regrow automatically once the underlying reason is eliminated.
  3. Poor Diet- Poor diet is one of the major reasons behind hair loss. Very well said by experts, a healthy diet can reduce the chance of any disease up to 75 percent. The same applies to hair loss. In medical terms, we call it telogen effluvium. This type of hair fall is common in case of heavy stress also.
  3. Medications- Medicines used in high blood pressure, stress control & cancer causes hair fall. In the case of cancer, chemotherapy or any other radiotherapy causes hair fall.
  4. Nutrition deficiency- Nutrition deficiency due to an unhealthy diet is another reason for excessive hair fall in women. Though it causes hair to fall in both men & women, it is more significant in women. A blood test is required to know the level of deficiency. According to the report, your doctor will suggest medication & supplements. Food rich in iron, zinc, vitamin B3 (niacin), and protein should be added to your regular diet.
  5. Scalp Psoriasis- Dandruff or scalp psoriasis is one of the major reasons for hair fall. It makes the scalp itchy & when you scratch your scalp, it will cause hair fall. Consult with a dermatologist as soon as possible to control the hair fall.
  6. Heat styling- Heat styling or blow-drying is one of the major factors for hair fall. This causes dry hair & split ends. This also damages the outer layer of hair that is known as the cuticle. Avoid using hairdryers & blowers frequently to reduce the chances of hair fall.
