A few everyday habits that lead to acne: A basic guide

The condition of your skin, no matter what its type and texture, can become lifelong if you don’t take care of it. Men and women alike are affected by acne, which is a common skin condition. Although acne is more common in adolescents, adults can also suffer from acne if they make mistakes with their skincare, are stressed, or don’t care for their skin properly.

1.    Carbohydrate-rich diet

You can get acne from eating too much sugar, such as from dairy products. Green leafy vegetables are rich in antioxidants and may aid in the treatment of acne. Foods like chips, chocolate, and ice cream, which are high in sugar and carbohydrates, are the main culprits behind bloating and acne.

2.    Some medications

It is possible to experience acne-like breakouts when taking certain medications that can affect your body’s hormonal balance. Make sure to speak to your doctor if you are considering taking prescribed medications.

3.    Not showering after exercise

The type of acne referred to as acne mechanica usually develops when one wears tight clothes while exercising and doesn’t shower afterwards. Sweat and heat are trapped, which leads to the growth of bacteria. To prevent bacteria from spreading, we should regularly wash our faces.

4.    Overexposure to the sun

Inflammation and sunburn can lead to clogged pores and breakouts, as sun exposure can cause skin inflammation and sunburn can accumulate more dead skin cells. As a result, our skin sweats more, providing a greater environment for bacteria to thrive.

5.    Sleeping insufficiently and not exercising

Stress can lead to acne because the body secretes hormones abnormally as a result of not getting enough sleep. To maintain hormonal balance, you need to exercise twice or three times per week. Hormonal imbalance is one of the leading causes of acne.

Instead, you could do the following:

1. Keep your face clean

Using a salicylic acid face wash or any anti-bacterial face wash such as from Suvarna twice or three times a day will reduce the appearance of wrinkles. In addition to washing, moisturizing is always a good idea, especially if you have oily or combination skin. It is counterproductive to not moisturize because people believe their skin produces enough oil. When your skin becomes dehydrated, it produces additional oil to compensate.

2. Makeup tools should be cleaned regularly

Be sure to clean any makeup and anything that comes into contact with your face, including cosmetic sponges and reusable pads, tweezers, Clarisonic brush heads, and eyelash curlers.

Bacteria counts can rise to heights higher than those on the skin on these devices. Bacteria overgrowth is naturally prevented by the body’s defenses. The use of contaminated products can aggravate our skin’s compromised function, as it is in acne patients.

3. Avoid popping pimples

Popping a pimple will likely drive the infection deeper into the skin, leading to further infection. This only causes your pimples to clog, swell, and become redder. There is an increased chance of scarring as well.

4. Choose the right products

Acne is often caused by high oil content in skincare products. Our skin should be kept free of excess oil by using non-comedogenic products or Organic Cosmetics. To determine what type of product is best suited to your skin, you should perform a skin sensitivity test. Getting a dermatologist’s advice before purchasing products is recommended if you suffer from skin problems.
